about claire

Claire is a designer whose work encompasses drawing, photography, digital collage, printmaking and interior styling. She originally trained in textile design and during this time established a love of colour, texture, and spatial organisation.  For over twenty years, she has worked professionally within a broad range of creative sectors including visual merchandising, art & design education, interior design consultancy and retail design stores.

ARTWORKS

Using experimental processes combining traditional methods and digital technology, Claire’s influences are wide ranging.  Her work has generated interest through its exacting and detailed nature: it has been described as meditative, colourful, intriguing, delicate, spatial and subtle. Current work has been inspired by her travels in the Far East, most notably Japan, where she was drawn to the patterns and colours of kimonos and refracted neon lights. These influences, combined with the botanical specimens that she meticulously gathers and documents, have resulted in a collection of exquisitely intricate works in print.

DESIGN DIRECTION

Claire works collaboratively with architects, designers and makers to develop thoughtful solutions for a range of clients. She is experienced in sourcing beautifully crafted furnishings and fittings for the home environment.  Her product knowledge and an eye for detail enable her to respond to design briefs on many levels and to suit a range of budgets. She uses creativity and intuition to develop styling concepts and original designs that achieve character, warmth, harmony and balance.
